Daniels breathes new life into aging sanctuary
Workers restoring the south face of the former First United Methodist Church were met with several unforeseen conditions.
The south side of the Daniels Recital Hall was restored after the building’s south wing was demolished last year. The unfinished doorway will allow access to a planned plaza. The rest of the exposed foundation will be below grade when a neighboring office tower is built.
THE FORMER First United Methodist Church in Seattle has been getting set for its second life as the Daniels Recital Hall. It's a transformation that has required careful restoration of the historic building.
